Music video- Filming day 3
Filming for day three, if gone to plan, will be the final day of filming. The scenes filmed will include the scenes with the male protagonist singer and his girlfriend, for the narrative scenes. Close ups and medium shots will be used to capture the couple together and happy, then long shots will hopefully capture the couple falling apart. These scenes aid a narrative that is based around a couple breaking up. However, the polysemic nature of the song, allows for multiple interpretations.
Weather Forecast
Filming for day 3 is due to take place on Saturday the 9th December. Since filming will be done outdoors, its essential that the weather is clear and dry so as too not damage the camera or effect filming. So far, the weather looks clear and dry so should be perfect for filming.
Location
Alfreton park
The location is easily accessible for all members of the group and the park is always open so filming can be done at any time of day.
The only issue that could occur is that there could be a large number of people within the park, potentially affecting filming. To solve this issue, a quiet location will be used within the park so that other people don't disturb our filming, and so we don't disturb their weekend walk.
Costume
Male protagonist
Black jeans will be worn to create continuity between his other costumes from other scenes. In addition to this, a red jacket will be worn. Red symbolises romance and love so should give a visual representation of his feelings towards the female in shot. Red is also opposite green on colour wheel. Since in scenes where he is alone, the male protagonist wears green, the opposing colour choice shows his feelings have changed, which hopefully symbolises to the audience that a breakup has occurred.
Female protagonist
Bright colours such as orange and blue will be worn by the female character. Reasons for this link to the idea that bright colours brings happiness and the female protagonist brought the male protagonist happiness when they were together. Bright colours hopefully will reflect the bright mood. These will contrast with scenes where the male character is alone feature dark colours. again, the contrast will show a change in mood and feelings of the male singer.
Below is a sketch of the costumes that will be worn:Props
- An old camera will be used to aid the narrative of romance between the two characters. The old camera will symbolise the idea that their love is of the past and that they need to move on, just as they need to move on with the camera:
Equipment
- Tripod for the keeping filming steady. Reasons for using this particular Tripod can be justified based on the camera being easily attached and the extension ability. Having extendable legs means the filming can be done at a range of heights, which helps create another dimension within our music video since the shots can become varied.
- Camera for filming. This Canon camera was chosen for filming because it provides a crisp, clear image as well as having a long battery life. Since filming can be time extensive, having a camera with a long battery life is helpful because it enables the camera to be in use all day. Therefore the battery needing charging doesn't become a distraction when filming.
- Steady cam- to filming scenes that involve a 360 degree turn. This piece of equipment was chosen because the 360 degree turn will be used to represent a turn in the protagonists life. As the camera turns and becomes disoriented, as does his life. The steady cam allows us to film this scene in a steady fashion to maintain some balance. Furthermore, it allows for a smoother turn rather than a potentially jolty turn that would result from using the camera alone.
Risk assessment
Filming for day 3 presents no risk whilst filming, so no risk assessment is required.
